Dr. Akshay Parmar is the Founder & MD of UniHealth. He joined the Board at the time of incorporation in 2010 and has been at the forefront in ensuring the rapid expansion of the consultancy services and distribution verticals of the Group in addition to overseeing the Group’s medical centers and hospitals in Tanzania and Nigeria.
An astute planner, he has been the backbone of the Group’s financial management and tech initiatives. He completed his M.B.B.S in 2010 from KJ Somaiya Medical College & Research Center (Mumbai) and the Certificate Program in ‘Value Creating Financial Strategies’ from Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad in 2021.
Dr. Anurag Shah is the Founder & Director of UniHealth. He joined the Board at the time of incorporation in 2010 and has been the driving force behind the Group’s expansion across multiple business verticals and its foray into the rapidly growing African geographies.
An avid traveler, he has traveled to more than 50 countries worldwide, keenly observing their healthcare services. In 2017 he relocated to Kampala (Uganda), and oversees the Group’s flagship hospital (UMC Victoria Hospital) as its Managing Director.
He completed his M.B.B.S in 2010 from KJ Somaiya Medical College & Research Center (Mumbai).
Mr. Parag Shah joined the Board in 2017 as an Executive Director and Chief Finance Officer (CFO). With more than 25 years of experience in administration, finance and accounts, he has been instrumental in formulating financial strategies for the Group’s rapid expansion in the recent years. Hard working and system oriented, he brings with him vast experience in accounts and banking, having worked in various administrative capacities in his long career.
Hailing from the state of Gujarat in India, number crunching comes naturally to him. Born in 1972 in Modasa, Gujarat, he completed his B. Com (Bachelor in Commerce) from Gujarat University before shifting to Mumbai to pursue his professional career.
Mrs. Riddhi Javeri joined the Board of Directors of UniHealth as an Independent Director in May 2023. Having completed her M. Phil. in Bioscience Enterprises from the Institute of Biotechnology and Judge Business School of the University of Cambridge (UK), she has wide experience across the biopharmaceutical value chain encompassing generic medicines, innovative medicines and biotechnology.
She has worked with global companies such as Cipla Limited, Novartis and Pfizer, gaining diverse global experience in regulated markets of USA, EU, Japan as well as BRICS and multiple African geographies. She is presently a Director on the Boards of InterMed Laboratories Private Limited, Azpire Pharma Private Limited and Quntrol Laboratories Private Limited.
Dr. Harsh Sheth joined the Board of Directors of UniHealth as an Independent Director in May 2023. He is an Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon in Mumbai with more than a decade of experience. He is a Consultant in Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery at Saifee Hospital, Bhatia Hospital, ACI Cumballa Hill Hospital, Apollo Spectra Hospital, Wockhardt Hospital and Conwest & Manjula S Badani Jain Hospital in Mumbai. Alongside his clinical work, he has dabbled into research with multiple publications and medical device patents to his name.
He performs various basic and advanced GI Surgeries and specializes in performing them in a minimally invasive manner. He has completed his M.S. in General Surgery from Seth G.S. Medical College & KEM Hospital in Mumbai.
He followed up on his post-graduate degree with an exchange research fellowship (Stanford – India Biodesign) at Stanford University, California, USA and All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India. His presence as an Independent Director on the Board of UniHealth allows the Management Team to derive strength and value from his clinical and research background for the operational benefit of the Group’s multiple units.
